This sculpture was the result of my trying to capture the feel of an ocean wave. It didn't go in the direction I originally anticipated like so much of my life but it took me in a much better direction once I started to see what the metal rod offered me when I studied its behaviour. It has a gentle rhythm which moves to naturally in air. My work then was to arrange enough rods to achieve the look and feel of the ocean, perhaps I captured the sea plants which move gracefully in rock pools at the edges of the ocean or a small inlet as the waves surge in then drains away, you decide.
